E-World Recyclers Celebrates Earth Day With Free Electronics Recycling Event

On Wednesday April 22, E-World Recyclers will host a free electronics recycling day at its Vista facilities to promote Earth Day and raise consciousness about environmental issues. The company will also participate in other collection drives around the community to dispose of out-of-service electronics and ensure they do not wind up in California landfills.
"Earth Day is a perfect time for us to promote responsible recycling practices," says Lyle DeStigter, the company's chief operations officer. "Many electronic components contain hazardous materials such as lead or mercury, and they must be disposed of safely. If these products are simply thrown away, they can contaminate our soil and water for years to come. Sound environmental recycling of used electronics contributes significantly to our sustainability and helps keep the earth green for future generations."
Earth day was founded in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson as a means of teaching people about various ecological issues. Later that same year, the federal government created the Environmental Protection Agency in response. Earth Day continues to be an effective means of increasing public awareness about various environmental challenges.
The Earth Day Collection Event will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
E-World Recyclers also holds free collection drives on the first Saturday of every month from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to properly dispose of items may bring them to 2480 Ash St. Vista, CA 92081.
