SAN DIEGO/EWORLDWIRE/July 25, 2007 --- Lead council in the $100 million dollar widely publicized Pacific Wealth Management investor fraud case, plaintiff's attorney Richard Ackerman, directed a letter of commendation to Fraud Discovery Institute Inc. (FDI) for its role and assistance in evidence-gathering during the four years of investigation.

Ackerman details in his correspondence FDI's cooperation which was capstoned by its securing of critical evidence through an emergency wiretap orchestrated by the Fraud Discovery Institute. Specifically, the alleged perpetrators in this scheme offered huge returns but were often careful to not reduce these untenable promises to investors in writing.

According to the letter, in August of 2006 an invitation-only meeting for current Pacific Wealth Management investors took place in Temecula, California, and FDI convinced law enforcement officials that this was the prime opportunity to secure evidence. Barry Minkow, FDI's president, was then able to secure a listening device from the FBI offices in Santa Ana and convinced a victim from the Pacific Wealth Management scheme to record the meeting in its entirety.

The attorney's letter points out other valuable evidence secured by FDI and directly references Minkow's part in victim principal recovery. "Having you on our side is one unknown variable no perpetrator could have planned for," said Mr. Ackerman about Barry Minkow.
