Claes Nobel, Nobel Prize Family, Presents Scholarship To Connecticut Student Kate Flores

STAMFORD, Conn./EWORLDWIRE/May 10, 2006 --- Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel Prize family and founder of The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS), will present a National Scholar Award to Connecticut high school student Kate Flores at a special recognition ceremony on May 13, 2006, in the U.S. Dirksen Senate Building in Washington, D.C. NSHSS will honor outstanding students and educators during the program. NSHSS scholarship recipients are selected on the basic of excellence in academics, leadership, and community service.

Flores, a senior at Trinity Catholic High School, was selected for the award from over 10,000 applicants. She will attend John Hopkins University in the fall. Nobel stated, "I am deeply honored to recognize Kate as one of the United States’ most outstanding students."

The Nobel family established the Nobel Prizes in 1901 in order to note outstanding contributions in the fields of peace, literature, medicine, chemistry and physics. More than a century later, these internationally renowned awards continue to distinguish scientists, authors and leaders in a world forum.
